In addition to semester opportunities, there are shot-term programs available to students as well. Some programs offer academic credit while others are simply to gain knowledge and experience.

Erasmus+ Application process
All students who wish to participate in the short-term mobility must secure a LCC faculty member to nominate them. Student selection is undertaken by sponsoring faculty in coordination with the Center for International Education staff.
Format and content of application is at the discretion of the sponsoring faculty member. All application materials are assessed by a selection committee to ensure a transparent selection process.
Participants’ application materials are assessed on the following criteria:
- Quality of application including motivation to participate in the program and ability to articulate how the goals of the program will be integrated into the student’s studies and/or future plans.
- Academic success as evidenced by GPA or other internal criteria. Recommended GPA is 7.5.
- Personal reference: faculty should solicit feedback or recommendations from department chairs, advisors or other LCC departments to determine student suitability for group travel and program participation. To avoid any indication of favoritism, there must be thorough documentation of selection rationale.
- Effort should be made to include students with disabilities or other barriers to learning.
- Priority should be given to students who have not attended a BIP or Erasmus exchange semester.

Erasmus+ grants for the academic year 2025–2026
You may receive an Erasmus+ grant as a contribution to your travel and subsistence costs. Grants consist of two elements.
- Daily rate: €79 per day. Mobilities are typically 5 days plus 2 travel days.
- Travel cost: €275+ depending on distance to destination city.
Students can also participate in the Erasmus+ program as “zero grant” participants, which means that they are not provided with funding, but are given the status of an Erasmus+ student (as well as all related privileges and responsibilities).
Participants with fewer opportunities
Erasmus+ aims to be inclusive and accessible and provides additional funding to support those with disabilities and special educational needs. Full-time LCC International University students can apply to receive additional mobility grants under the following definitions after they have been selected for a mobility period (documents confirming the status must be submitted):
- Disabilities – includes physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory impairments which, in interaction with various barriers, may hinder someone’s full and effective participation in society on the same footing as others.
- Health problems – barriers may result from health issues including severe illnesses, chronic diseases, or any other physical or mental health-related situation that prevents a student from participating without additional financial support.
- Social barriers – an orphan or having lived or currently living in institutional care; single parent caring for a child.
- Economic barriers – students who have been granted 80% or more financial aid from LCC International University for the upcoming academic year. Dependence on the social welfare system: students and/or their parents, who are entitled to receive or currently receive social benefits according to the Law of the Republic of Lithuania on Financial Social Assistance for the Unprivileged Residents or an equivalent law in the person’s country of citizenship. Students who receive financial support from their parents or others must report and include such support in the application.
- Cultural barriers – a student (or parents/guardians) who have been forcibly displaced or granted refugee status in the past 5 years.
Additional flat-rate individual grant for students with fewer opportunities participating in Erasmus + mobility is:
- in case of long-term mobility – 250.00 EUR per month;
- in case of short-term mobility – 100.00 EUR (when the duration of mobility is 5–14 days); 150.00 Eur (when the duration of mobility is 15-30 days).
Sustainable traveling
Students who travel to their destination using a sustainable mode of transportation (with low CO2 emissions) may receive a maximum of 4 extra grant days to compensate for the extra travel time. Examples of sustainable transportation methods are: cycling, carpooling, bus, or train; for the majority of both the outward journey and the return trip. Green Travel incentives are only available for study exchanges or traineeships within Europe.
To receive the Top-Up student must :
- Complete a Green Travel declaration after plans have been made and/or tickets purchased but before grant agreement has been signed. For most, this is 15-30 days before arrival at the mobility. Green Travel Declaration

- The green travel top-up and additional days will be included in the final grant payment once everything has been confirmed.
